Dr. Joseph M. Novi, DO, FACOG, medical director

Joseph M. Novi, DO, FACOG, medical director

Dr. Novi is a fellowship-trained urogynecology physician. He received his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Ob/Gyn residency at Geisinger Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Novi joined the medical staff at Geisinger and was appointed vice chairman and then chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2002, Dr. Novi left general Ob/Gyn practice to pursue his additional 3 years of training as a fellow in urogynecology at the University of Pennsylvania. He has twice been awarded the National Faculty Teaching Award by the Council on Residency Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has presented several research papers at national and international conferences. Dr. Novi has also traveled to Africa to participate in a United Nations-sponsored project to provide surgical services to women with childbirth injuries.
 

Dr. James Q. Pulvino, MD, FACOG

James Q. Pulvino, MD, FACOG

Dr. Pulvino is a fellowship-trained and board certified Urogynecologist. He received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland Faculty of Medicine in St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada. He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center, in Portland, Maine where he served as chief resident. Following residency he then completed a 3-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York which is an ACGME/Board Approved program. Dr. Pulvino is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He is one of the first ever board certified physicians in his field. He has presented research in the field of Urogynecology both nationally and internationally and had his work published in many well respected medical journals.

Dr. Nicole M. Book, MD


Nicole M. Book, MD

Dr. Book is a fellowship-trained urogynecology physician. She completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital, where she was recognized for Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures and received a patient-initiated award for her gentle bedside manner. She then completed her 3-year fellowship in Female, Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Book is a member of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists as well as the Urogynecology Society and has presented national and international research publications.

Chauncey R. Butler, MSN, CRNP, nurse practitioner


Chauncey R. Butler, MSN, CRNP, nurse practitioner

Chauncey received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 1994. She worked at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, and received extensive experience in the field of Women’s Health. Chauncey moved to Columbus in 2000, where she continued her career in women’s health at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, in 2005. She is certified as a family practice nurse practitioner and has been with OhioHealth Urogynecology Physicians, formerly Riverside Center for Female Continence and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, since the practice opened in 2005.
 

Courtney Kuharik, certified physician assistant


Courtney Kuharik

Courtney is a certified physician assistant. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree at Marietta College in 2009. She then received her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Toledo in 2011. Courtney has a special interest in the area of women’s health and joined OhioHealth Urogynecology Physicians, formerly Riverside Center for Female Continence and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, in 2012.

Resident physicians

Riverside Methodist Hospital is a major teaching hospital with a fully accredited Ob/Gyn residency training program. In most instances, an Ob/Gyn resident physician will assist Dr. Novi, Dr. Book and Dr. Pulvino in your care.
